Innovation. Creativity. Opportunity.
The Collaborative: Empowering Youth Through Technology, Arts, and Academic Excellence
Educating Young Minds (EYM) and TEC Leimert have joined forces to create The Collaborative—an innovative partnership designed to transform educational experiences for historically underserved, marginalized, and underrepresented youth.
Together, we are addressing long-standing educational inequities by combining academic enrichment with technology, design, music, and creative innovation. Through project-based learning and industry-connected experiences, students gain the knowledge, confidence, and technical skills necessary to thrive in college, careers, and life.
Rather than viewing students as "at-risk," we recognize them as at-promise—young people with limitless potential when provided with equitable opportunities, meaningful support, and access to high-quality learning experiences.
Our shared vision
The Collaborative prepares students to become creative thinkers, problem-solvers, innovators, and leaders by integrating rigorous academics with real-world applications. Our programs inspire students to discover their talents while developing the technical, academic, and professional skills needed for success in today's rapidly evolving economy.
Why this partnership matters
01
Preparing students for college and career success
Many students struggle to connect classroom learning with their future aspirations. Our partnership bridges that gap by integrating college readiness with authentic, real-world experiences that demonstrate how mathematics, literacy, science, technology, and creativity work together to solve meaningful problems. Students graduate with stronger academic foundations while developing clear pathways toward higher education, industry certifications, entrepreneurship, and career opportunities.
02
Building confidence through hands-on learning
Students learn best when they create, collaborate, and solve authentic challenges. Project-based experiences allow students to take ownership of their learning while developing resilience, confidence, and perseverance. As they complete meaningful projects, students begin to see themselves as capable scholars, designers, engineers, entrepreneurs, and innovators.
03
Strengthening math, literacy, and technology skills
Technology is most powerful when paired with strong academic foundations. Rather than teaching these skills in isolation, students experience them as interconnected tools used to solve real-world challenges.
04
Developing essential 21st-century skills
Today's workforce requires more than technical knowledge. These experiences prepare students to succeed in college classrooms, workplaces, and entrepreneurial ventures.
